.....the weather in London this week has been ridiculous. As in ridiculously cold.
It's April, what is going on?!
I spent Tuesday afternoon at Highgate Woods with my friend S....
we had coffee, wore sunglasses, watched our 3 boys play football & ride their bikes for hours and
....insert drum roll....
I was able to remove my scarf & the gloves which I feel I've been wearing non-stop for months on end.
We basked in the glorious sunshine, I closed my eyes & imagined I was on the beach....it was blissful, at least until a football whizzed past my ear & brought me back to reality.
Wednesday was exceptionally cold.
And on Thursday it snowed....
whilst it wasn't inches deep, it was blizzard-like for a few hours in London.
Blizzard-like & freezing.
They say the British talk constantly about the weather....
I cannot confirm or deny that but while goodness only knows I love layers, boots, hats & all things woollen....
I'm an autumn/winter girl but I am soooo ready for some warmer weather.
Ready....
to sit in the sun.
to resume my Sunday 8am walk & breakfast at Kenwood House.
to always check I have sunglasses as opposed to my warmest gloves in my bag.
to wear ballet flats instead of boots.
to sit outside a cafe & linger over my coffee instead of huddling inside.
to think about summer colours instead of grey, black & grey
for blossom on the trees
to believe that summer holidays are getting nearer
for picnics
to feel the sun on my skin
