Coveting - Storage Bags by Bookhou

Today I'm coveting these handmade storage bags, with original drawings printed on linen, by studio Bookhou. I love them with plants, but really, they would look great as storage for just about anything.

Bookhou is a multidisciplinary design studio/shop, based in Toronto, that believes in slow design - hand-made pieces made one at a time. Sweet original products, neutral colours and natural materials - I think It's worth a visit.

Indoors Garden

I've been working on a Pinterest board called [ Indoors Garden ] and I'm loving the atmosphere it transmits. It's fresh and full of good ideas for having plants inside our homes.
Here are some of my latest pins.
Hope you like it!

Daniella Witte's Home

Daniella Witte is a Swedish stylist and photographer with one of the most beautiful and inspiring blogs I follow. Her blog is written in Swedish, but the photos more than speak for themselves (and there's always google translation). There, you can find beautiful photos of her impeccably styled home and it's transformations over time. Her style comes from a mix of raw materials (wood, copper, concrete) and natural tones, with warmer details and textiles. It's a perfect example of contemporary Scandinavian style.

I truly recommend a visit to her blog. But first, here are a few photos where you can see some changes happening. You can notice two different lamps hanging from the ceiling and a painted black detail on the table's legs, for example. And also the different sun light coming in through the windows.

Hoping this was a good way to inspire you for a new week!

Butterfly Joints

via BDDW
Today I'm embracing my inner nerd and posting about wood joinery. More specifically about Butterfly Joints. This type of joint can hold two separate planks of wood together. But what I really like is when it is used, in furniture or flooring, to lock natural cracks on a single plank and avoid it's further opening. The butterflies are usual of a contrasting wood or of a different material, such as metal (like in the picture above, which happens to be my favourite).

A way of transforming imperfection into something absolutely stunning!

What do you think?
Do you have an inner nerd that feels strangely attracted to this sort of detailing?

London House

The SHOOTFACTORY is a company that rents spaces for filming and photo sessions. They have dozens of gorgeous places, in the UK and abroad, but I just happened to have fallen in love with the house in Tulse Hill  which I'm sharing today.

Bright, white ample spaces...Victorian details, mid-century design furniture... and that kitchen! I would die just for that kitchen. It even has a Nespresso machine, which means I could move in right now and be in heaven. The house is not meant for people to live in it, but tonight I will still dream that I win the lottery and make it my home.

Calendar 2013

Every year I look for a wall calendar to help me organize myself. Today I found this great 2013 year calendar designed by Erik Olovsson. I love it because it brings me memories of old notebooks. A mixture of doing my homework for elementary school and going to an old, small, dark grocery shop with my grandmother in search of "obscure" spices.

Scandinavian Christmas Inspiration

When I starting seeing all the black&white and neutral decorations for Christmas, that have been available for more than a month all over the blogs and pinterest, I thought they were very beautiful, perfect for my taste in general but ...maybe... just not completely Christmassy?!

Then it snowed on the 1st of December and everything has been white outside since then. And all of a sudden all that white, the simple decorations, the bare branches in simple vases, make perfect sense to me. It's like a reflection of what's going on outside.

I'm loving my white Christmas.
