Daily Dishonesty

I recently started following a blog on Tumblr called Daily Dishonesty, and I thought I should share it with you today. Lauren Hom, a graphic designer and illustrator based in New York City, gives us those little, harmless, lies (or dishonesties) that we tend to tell ourselves, and others, on a daily basis...and mostly about food. 

I chose a few to show you, but you can follow the link for more.  It's a fun read for a lazy Sunday!

Therese Sennerholt - prints

One of the Danish interior design magazines I usually read often offers small prints from different artist or designers. I have three, hanging on my living room wall, and the last one I got was the "yes" by the Swedish  designer Therese Sennerholt. I decided to explore more of her work and share some of the images from her web shop. I love all her black and white prints and the photos, done in collaboration with several stylists and photographers (I'm sorry but I don't know them all) are just wonderful!

Valentine's Day

I hate hearts and heart shaped things. And I scroll down like my life depends on it whenever I see a quote with the word love on Pinterest. So my perfect Valentine's day poster would be like the one below, with one of the most romantic things Emil has ever said to me.

Minimalistic Fairy Tales

After taking down all Christmas decorations, I ended up with 3 empty black paper clips hanging on the wall. Since they are placed right next to the TV, I thought it would be nice to get images or posters inspired by movies or TV series (I follow and re-watch tons of TV series). I haven't found exactly what I want, yet, but during my search I came across this great minimalistic posters, designed by Christian Jackson and inspired by fairy tales, and I just couldn't resist posting them here.

I grew up with fairy tales. My mother and grandmother would spend hours, everyday, telling me stories in hope I would get distracted enough to eat. I still love fairy tales and I love how of these images transmit a story with only one or a few elements and how some of them capture a bit of their "dark side".

Calendar 2013

Every year I look for a wall calendar to help me organize myself. Today I found this great 2013 year calendar designed by Erik Olovsson. I love it because it brings me memories of old notebooks. A mixture of doing my homework for elementary school and going to an old, small, dark grocery shop with my grandmother in search of "obscure" spices.

Christmas Decorations

This year, inspired by all the images posted on blogs I follow and on Pinterest, I have been wanting some simple black and white Christmas decorations. So I decided to go with an easy and cheap DIY on a corner of my living room. I got the definition of December from Pinterest, the little Christmas trees pattern is from Fine Little Day, and the advent calendar was quickly made by myself on Photoshop (using washi tape to "cut" the days).

Casablanca

Yesterday I watched Casablanca for the first time! 

I know, I know...coming a bit late. But It was great.
