[ a gesture in black&white ] by Norm.Architects

A few photos of a townhouse in Copenhagen renovated by Norm.Architects.

A home of contrasts.

A white background and open layout that make for a serene, pure and fluid refuge, in opposition to it's exterior body and surroundings. And an almost graphic gesture through the punctuation of the space with black details. I find it beautiful (if maybe not very liveable). What do you think?

Ylva Skarp's home

Yesterday I shared here the beautiful work of calligrapher Ylva Skarp. So, today, I thought it made sense to show you her home, styled by Anna Mård and Photography by Karin Foberg, for Elle Decor.

I love the whole ambience of it. First of all the space is amazing! And it's so full of personality and spirit, with a mix of different styles and including her own work. It's one of those homes that I come back to quite frequently for a good dose of interior inspiration.

Ylva Skarp - Calligraphy Love

I'm starting this week by sharing the work of the Swedish calligrapher and designer Ylva Skarp.
You may have seen some of her handwriting in several images before, but here are a few more.
The prints 'Curiosity' and 'Creativity' have been on my wish list for a while...it's one of those things that belong in my dream home... and today I fell in love with her words on ceramics as well.

Her writing just makes me feel happy!
Hope you like it.

Scandinavian Style - white and airy apartment in Sweden

Today, I'm loving this bright apartment in Sweden. A lot of white, punctuated with grey tones and green plants, make it feel very fresh and serene. And I'm crazy about some of the details, like that geometric lamp on the living-room window or the gorgeous door wall paper from Mr.Perswall. But above all - and maybe I'm just weird - I love the airy, uncluttered, general atmosphere of the apartment, that even with white floors seems to be very easy to clean.

Bloomingville A/W 2013 - Nordic Atmosphere

A few weeks ago, Bloominville, a Danish company of products for the home, released their 2013 Autumn/Winter catalogue. Bloomingville's concepts and styling are always a good source of inspiration on how to create a Nordic atmosphere, so I decided to share a few images to illustrate some of the next season's trends. A few things to keep in mind: natural wood, warm furs, grey tones, metallic and geometric details.

Emma Persson Lagerberg's home

I love seeing how people whose work I admire live. So, to start this new week, I'm sharing the home of Emma Persson Lagerberg, a Swedish interior stylist, photographed by the also very talented photographer Petra Bindel.

I was first captivated by the kitchen in tones of mint green, with the mason jars linen up on an open shelf and the detail of a chair painted green. Looks fresh and inviting, don't you think? But I also love that there are books spread all over the place and that little reading nook with an old, leather covered chair... I could spend hours there. And to end the tour in perfection, those double white doors opening to a peaceful  white bedroom. I would gladly live there.

Bright Dining Room - Scandinavian Style

Today I'm posting some eye candy with this dining room from an apartment in Helsinki.
Mostly white with some whimsical details, like the wall paper and the coloured interior of the lamps.
And I love the wooden floor painted white. I don't care if it's not practical!

Bright Apartment by Studio Oink

Today I'd like to share this apartment in Wiesbaden, by Studio Oink.
And even though it's located in Germany it looks very Scandinavian.
I love the brightness and the soft tones, the raw  wooden floors and the grey kitchen tiles, the mixture of costume made and old furniture, modern and vintage details.
But what I love the most is that it feels very homey.

I could live here... what do you think?
Have a nice weekend everyone!
