Giveaway : "The Hobbit"

When I was in class 2D at school, aged 8 or 9, our teacher Mrs Dangerfield would read aloud to us.

One term she read "The Hobbit" to us and, out of all the (many) books I have ever had read to me, it's the only one that I can still clearly remember....
her voice as Gollum will stay with me forever....
when I think of it, I can still picture my classroom!
the class was spellbound....
it's a book that will always have a special place in my heart for that reason.

My children are almost 5 years apart in age & at different reading stages & even though I think everyone enjoys being read aloud to, there haven't been many books that suit both of them.

I am planning to read "The Hobbit" to them this summer while we are in France,
I think it's perfect end-of-the-day reading & even though my daughter started it herself recently, I know they will both love it.

"The Hobbit" is being released as a film in December and this year sees the 75th anniversary of the book.

"The Hobbit is the unforgettable story of Bilbo, a peace-loving hobbit, who embarks on a strange and magical adventure."

A timeless classic.

Bilbo Baggins enjoys a quiet and contented life, with no desire to travel far from the comforts of home; then one day the wizard Gandalf and a band of dwarves arrive unexpectedly and enlist his services – as a burglar – on a dangerous expedition to raid the treasure-hoard of Smaug the dragon.

Bilbo’s life is never to be the same again.

Seldom has any book been so widely read and loved as J.R.R. Tolkien’s classic tale, ‘The Hobbit’.
Since its first publication in 1937 it has remained in print to delight each new generation of readers all over the world, and its hero, Bilbo Baggins, has taken his place among the ranks of the immortals of fiction.

I have 2 copies of the paperback book to give away....
if you would like to win a copy, just leave me a comment.
Winners will be chosen in week's time.
