Like A Bee To Honey

Hatfields,  LA

Bees are very busy, very efficient little bugs.  The honeycomb pattern we associate with a bees' nest is one of nature's most efficient shapes.  It's a way to use a minimal amount of material and cover the maximum amount of space:  Interesting.
The news has been reporting that bees are disappearing at an alarming rate.  Maybe that's why the honeycomb or hexagon pattern is on my radar.  I am attracted to it like never before.  All of a sudden I want some of this in my life.

It looks awfully good in gold, as nature intended

Customized hive tables:  you pick the color, material, size, amount.  They're amazing and fit any space.  Now, that's efficient!

And so are these:  the Hawley side tables.  Three are not enough.  I love options, and the brass and marble elevate them to glam status!

Any room wrapped in a David Hicks pattern by Cole and Son is all right by me.  The hexagon in this color way is particularly appealing, but the more colorful ones are fun too!

Whether on the floor or up a wall, hexagon pattered tiles always look sophisticated!  They also read vintage, mid century, or modern, depending on the tile you choose.  Theses cubed beauties really are versatile statement makers.

This is the nicest bowling alley lane I have ever seen.  It is at the Hard Rock Hotel in Las Vegas, but you could easily apply this wall treatment anywhere (you want a to-die-for space).  That Rocks, no pun intended.

Miuccia Prada was feeling it, however, a little does go a long way.  I think of it like I think of leopard; a little is always a good thing.  It can act as a neutral and coordinate with many things; but keep it tightly edited.

In feng shui, the six sided shape represents longevity and expansiveness.  It fits together in infinite ways and goes with every other shape.  Therefore, it becomes an ideal partner.

The hexagon lantern pendent's shape is repeated in the carpet and looks at home in this eclectically decorated classic foyer.

I love this cowhide patch rug.  It can be custom sized and colored~that will put a little zip in your step.
