Whilst I love my summers in the sun at the beach....
once September arrives, I get such a feeling of excitement & anticipation at the thought of autumn and all that it brings.
It's always been my favourite season....
September in London so far has been a mixture of gorgeous sunny days & a little rain.
The evenings are starting to get shorter & a little chillier.
It's a the time of year that speaks to me of comfort & warmth....
it's says everything about me that my winter boots far outnumber my shoe collection & there's nothing I like more than a chunky scarf & woollen hat.
Blacks & greys, cashmere socks, biker boots, layers....
Soups and casseroles, puddings & pies....
hot chocolates & coffees
it's the season that suits my cooking best!
sitting in a cafe with the windows steaming up, huddled up for warmth & lingering just a few minutes longer than usual to cling on to the heat
I live a short walk from London's Hampstead Heath, it's beautiful all year round but particularly in autumn as the seasons change.
I walk there 2-3 times a week....
sometimes early morning with a girlfriend when it's still misty and there's a chill in the air
sometimes late afternoons with my children when we wrap up warm, scuff through the leaves & head for one of the higher points on the Heath where we can get a great view over London.
Whenever I think of autumn, I think of the Heath and the eternally beautiful changing colours of the trees, it's a place I will always love & be drawn to.
London has such beautiful parks & green spaces but Hampstead Heath is really something - a must-see if you are visiting London.
