Goodness knows I love a beauty product and after simple lack of space found me re-organising my drawers & boxes of products at the week-end, I thought I'd share my current daily favourites.
I read an interview with a very well-known beauty guru and businesswoman recently who said that actually it's not about buying the most expensive beauty products, it's about buying what really works for you personally - I couldn't agree more.
I do have a lot of products....
but I know which ones work for me best, depending on how I am feeling & what my skin needs that day.
Plus I don't have hours of time to spend on myself so I need my products & routines to be quick and effective.
Here are my favourites right now....
Skincare
I'm a confirmed Liz Earle fan & I use this spritzer every morning instead of water on my face.
Contains aloe vera, calendula, cucumber & Vitamin E and is so refreshing.
I reviewed this range recently in my "Summer Beauty Month" here and this moisturiser has become my daily go-to. It's beautifully fresh, absorbs easily and is perfect under make-up.
I discovered this mask in France at my favourite holiday pharmacie a couple of summers ago....perfect for dry skin & although it's a mask, I often put it on before I go to bed & just leave it to absorb (ie, I don't wipe off the excess). It works every time if my skin is feeling a little dehydrated.
Judith Williams Lifelong Beauty Dual Eye System (£27.25 on QVC)
A range I only discovered recently, this is my favourite eye cream right now - it's a "dual eye system" - a tightening eye gel for day & a balm for night-time.
A lovely product to use, I really noticed a difference with this product.
REN Vetiver Hand & Body Cream (£9 for 100ml)
I love REN products & this 15ml travel size tube came free with RED magazine this month, the fragrance is gorgeous & I'd absolutely buy this in the full size.
I wrote about this last November as part of my Wellbeing & Wellness Series and it's the foundation that I wear every day. I often change my make-up when I finish a product but this I would definitely buy again.
Shower & Bath
Elemental Herbology Beach Prep (£21.00)
Perfect for holiday skin preparation, this is a gorgeous product which I used it last summer & am just starting to use it again before I hit the beach.
Use it while showering to exfoliate & polish, I felt my skin really benefitted from this.
It contains orange flower and papaya juice.
Ojon Dry Recovery Hydrating Shampoo & Conditioner (£18/$23 each)
I reviewed this on my blog recently & this has been such a great find for my dry hair, I can't say any more than I absolutely love it!
Decleor Aromessence Relaxing Dry Oil (£43.00)
When I think of Decleor, I think of a luxurious spa experience and that's exactly what this product is....a wonderful mix of vanilla, vetiver, ylang ylang amongst other aromas, I use it after a bath or sometimes just at bed-time, it is beautifully relaxing - and you don't have to use a lot of it so the product lasts for ages.
It's A 10 Miracle Hair Mask (£14.98)
Widely available in the US and available from select salons ( and Ebay & online) in the UK, this is the best hair mask that I've used recently - my hair was softer & shinier from the first treatment onwards.
Night-time
Simple but perfect....I use this every day and it always leaves my skin feeling soft and moisturised.
I have used much more expensive cleansers than this without the great results.
Recently voted best beauty product of the last 20 years by UK beauty writers, I recommend this to anyone who will listen! Simply apply the cleanser and wash off with hot water and muslin cloths (these come with the product)....this is instantly effective and so uplifting, I love it!
Louise is a blogger with whom I have become friends but I promise you that I would still be recommending this gorgeous facial oil in spite of that!
When the facial oils were launched by her earlier this year, I had never tried them before and it turned out that, having ordered two, the one I thought might suit me less actually suited me best!
I have been using the British Blend for a couple of months now & use it virtually every night.
It's definitely a feel-good product, I simply love using it - the sage, rosemary and lavender that it contains are relaxing & seem to suit my skin perfectly.
I can honestly say that they have made a difference to my skin which is noticeably more hydrated than before.
A simple, super-effective and totally reliable product at a really great price, I use this on elbows and heels and just as an all over moisturiser - my children like using it too :)
I attended a talk on "Wellness & Wellbeing" last year and met the founder of Aromatherapy Associates, Geraldine Howard there....an inspiring woman whose concepts with regard to beauty I really identified with.
I sometimes use this oil during the day but mostly it's my night-time essential, I dab it on my wrists and my hands and drift off to sleep thanks to its comforting and relaxing aroma.
SteamCream (£12.95)
SteamCream is the latest concept in skincare - fresh ingredients fused together by a shot of steam providing a lightweight product with long-lasting hydration.
I use this as a handcream at night.
Murine Bright & Moist Eyes (£4.49)
I've recently found that I have tired eyes a lot of the time and, having not used eye drops for some years now, I recently started using these and they really work.
Manuka Doctor Foot & Heel Cream (£8.99)
Described as "repairing, rich & hydrating and cooling" this product is perfect in the pre-summer hols run-up when you want to get your feet in slightly better shape & beach ready.
