Wedding : Veils

When I was growing up I never had a vision of my wedding dress but I always knew I wanted a long long veil....

and in the end, that's what I had,  my dress had a train & my veil was several metres long. 

It was quite possibly my most favourite part of my wedding dress....

I had a very traditional wedding in an old London church & a veil was perfect.

Did you wear a veil....and if so, did you go long or short? Or did you wear something else instead?

The Most Romantic Marriage Proposal Ever?

This NYC groom-to-be arranged for his friends to set the rooftop scene,

one hundred and fifty polaroids on which he had written things that he loved about his girlfriend

were strung along rows of lights....

how romantic is that??!!

From the bride-to-be… 

My fiance Garrett Goodwin proposed to me on a rooftop in NYC. He plays in a band and it was difficult for him to set the “stage” so our good friends truly helped out. Garrett shipped a box full of lights and 150 polaroid pictures of him and I with 150 things written that he loves about me to a good friend who set it up while we were at dinner. We were going to visit a friend at their apartment and literally had to climb about five sets of fire escape stairs to get onto the roof. I was completely and utterly surprised as you can see in the video! It was a dream come true!

Wedding Lace

I have no intention of planning another wedding - not for myself anyway - but that doesn't stop me from collecting beautiful weddings images on Pinterest!

Browsing the other day, I noticed that many of the dresses that I had chosen were similar in style....I love the delicate lace & tulle featured in these dresses, so stylish & timeless.

I remember really liking Ivanka Trump's beautiful Vera Wang dress when she married a few years ago....apparently she was inspired by Grace Kelly's stunning wedding dress.

Weddings : Amalfi, Italy

We found out at the week-end that my husband's cousin is planning his wedding for June this year in Italy...fingers crossed that we are able to travel over for the event.

I have always wanted to attend a wedding in Italy & am already imagining us walking through the streets of the tiny Italian town where they live & then wending our way through the hills in a procession of cars tooting the horn as we go, as is the tradition at European weddings!
