A chic NYC apartment with a mid-century mod and industrial twist

I was really excited to get this submission from Irving, which is for a recently finished apartment in a utilitarian high rise on 3rd ave. I really like the mix of mid-century modern, industrial, and chic. To me by keeping away from style extremism, it keeps the space looking lived-in.

The dweller gave me quite a few delicious details "We have a bright open layout that have 9’ floor-to-ceiling double paned windows, a loft style kitchen featuring volcanic balsitina countertops, Italian Veneto glass tile backsplashes, Sub-Zero fridges, Miele dishwasher, Thermador oven and cook top, and Jenn-air microwave & convection oven. The luxurious limestone bath boasts Wenge wood cabinets, separate seamless glass shower, sink and a soaking tub. "

LOVE that wall color (Benjamin Moore - White Diamond), and the gallery style wall.

The pink Wishbone chair is the result of twenty female interior designers who got to customize the Wegner classic and auction them off to support breast cancer research.

Brighten up your Monday - some uplifting, cheerful rooms

It's hard to feel cheerful with all that's going on in the country and the world, so you may have to make an extra effort to be grateful for the gifts in our lives, I'm hoping these rooms put a smile on your face and remind you of the most important part of any home: family.

The colors here are so gorgeous.

possibly my dream kitchen!

great way to keep your fireplace during summer

Simple but lovely living rooms

Love this living room.  So unassuming and simple, but still pretty.

A mid-century modern living room in an unusual palette.

A neutral scheme with organic decor is always relaxing

I've never had a white wood floor, but I'm always drawn to them, so I'll have to make sure I have one one day.

Awesome deals on some mid-century mod. pieces

I can't decide if I want a glass console or coffee table. This furniture is great for keeping an open feel to a room, because since you can see through them they don't take up much visual weight.

$285 for the console

only $295 for the coffee table - can't really beat that.
and only $139 for the nesting tables - I'm trying to decide if I want to go with two small tables, like the nesting tables, to serve as a coffee table in my living room, or the clear coffee table...hmmm... Anyway, if you want to snatch up one of these great deals, it's on sale at HauteLook (but only for the next two days or so!)

Dining room love with a casual style

My dining room, er, nook in my living room, is really in a sorry state so I'm hoping some of these images get my butt in gear and give me some ideas for sprucing up the space!

Gorgeous table - and right by a cozy fire!

So pretty.  I'm considering a round table for our space.  Even though round tables aren't the best use of space (ie: not great for tight spaces), I feel like they are more intimate.

A clutter-free and warm home of a Toronto artist

It's often a bit hard to find a home that is minimal and clean but not cold or sterile. This cozy home is a carefully edited space of meaningful objects.

The artist, Cylene

She keeps a rotating art wall, and displays collections, such as the cameras you see here, but the space still feels airy.

The kitchen is so cute.

The artist also let the folks over at Covet Garden tour her studio. I always love seeing a studio because I majored in ilustration and spent many years among other artists in their studios.
