Fearless Fantasy Friday - In The Midnight Garden

A magical, fairy/fantasy sort of room for those who love that sort of thing.

Pics from Nicety via Living Etc.

Very dreamy and ethereal.

Have a fabulous weekend lovelies!

Fearless Fantasy Friday ~ Wallpaper, Painted Chairs, and Colour!

I see things like the images below....

... and I'm reminded of how I've been hankering to get some wallpaper somewhere in my house, even if it's just on a ceiling (oh yes, I WILL do that one day), and to paint some furniture in a bold colour. I've been eyeing off my dining chairs and a couple of bookcases for that adventure.

That last image, with its bold chairs and eye catching light fitting is pretty fearless too!

I found the pictures above over on House Of Turquoise. A feast for the eyes on this Fearless Fantasy Friday.

There's more too....

Have a great weekend everyone!

Fearless Fantasy Friday - How Would You Like To Be Lounging Here?....

This space is just breath-taking for me...... all those trees so beautifully majestic in the background would make that porch the perfect place for soul restoration.

The part of my heart that yearns to have trees around me would be very happy indeed if I had somewhere like that to find my peace.

I'm a trifle late for a Fearless Fantasy Friday post, but as it's only just gone Saturday here, and it's still Friday on the other side of the world, I figure I can still make it count. And, this image just jumped off the page at me.

Happy weekend my lovelies! May you find a place to reach your own peace this weekend.

Fearless Fantasy Friday - A Red Door...

Oh yes... in my fantasy world I have a beautiful home with a garden that includes a few oak trees, (maybe some willows down by a pond), and there are also pine trees around too. None of these are too close to the house, but close enough to feel their majestic and stable presence.

And, when you get down the paved driveway (made using old recycled bricks perhaps), you're faced with a front door something like this one.

This little oasis could be in the middle of a city.... my own private sanctuary to feel cocooned in. Or, a bit further out in the country.

Either way, one day I WILL have a red door!

P.S. There's a give-away coming up soon! I haven't had one for ages and ages. If you're into cushions, stay tuned!!

Fearless Fantasy Friday - No Guts, No Glory!!

I was reading a post over on Coco And Kelly yesterday where Cassandra was talking about getting up the 'guts' to do what she really wanted to do in her bedroom make-over.

I left a comment mentioning the oft used phrase 'no guts, no glory!' because I really think we should follow our  hearts and our 'gut' and go for something if we are truly yearning for it.

If we can pull it off.... glory awaits!

After all.... we can change a paint colour pretty easily.... replace a print, get new curtains (a bit more expensive) etc.

But, all in all, it probably won't be the end of the world if it fails and we have to re-examine what we've done and make some alterations (or even, oh no..... start over!)

I mused about this sort of 'fear factor' a while ago in a post titled 'What Is It You're Craving For Your Home But Haven't Tried Yet? - 3 Questions To Ask Yourself'.

And then, I found this picture whilst visiting a blog that's great for inspiration - The Lennoxx.

If you click on the pic below you'll get the FULL, massive pic with more furniture in it than you can actually see at first glance.

No guts, no glory indeed!

How fabulous is this pic?

Such big, brave, bold use of pattern on the curtains, the supremely glam choice of furniture and accessories.... the whole thing screams 'going for it' to me, and I think they pulled it off BIG TIME!

What do you think?

What do you really want to do in your home, but haven't had the 'guts' to try yet?

Happy Friday everyone.... I hope you get to do something BIG and BOLD this weekend.

Go for it!

Fearless Fantasy Friday - Wonderful and Whimsical Doors In An Amazing Home...

You know how I love doors with personality.... I think doors are such a magical yet simple symbol of what could be and the places you could go!  To me an unusual door embodies adventure, boldness, and a touch of daring.

You can see then, why I just adore the way the owners of this AMAZING home (found on Design Sponge), have given doors such attention throughout their house.

Take this entrance door with small glass panels representing Pantone paint colours....

... how cool is that! Imagine the light streaming through that door and into your home.

Magic.

Not only have they paid attention to doors where you'd usually find them, but they've put them on the ceiling as well. These guys really think outside the box!

And, finally, my favourite. A door with a size that suits everyone. All the doors work, and the whole effect is so playful and just plain fun - don't you think? I bet the two small children who live there love it.

You can see the rest of this happy, unusual, and quirky home over on Design Sponge.

Oh, and did I mention the house resides in Italy amongst beautiful fields and a lush landscape!

On a different note, I hope you all find something lovely to keep you occupied this weekend! I'll be doing a bit of Spring cleaning over here. The weather's warmed up over the last week or so, the Spring bulbs are out, and my Golden Wattle tree in the backyard is covered in wonderful blossom! I'll also be catching up with friends and doing a spot of singing on Sunday night!

Fearless Fantasy Friday - Guest Post... Mirrored Furniture

Hi all! I’m Susi and I write as a guest blogger for DesignShuffle.com, a fabulous social media site that promotes interior designers from around the world and their work. My writing focuses on things I'm passionate about: decorating ideas, home furnishings, gardening, travel and art.

I am so happy to be writing a Fearless Fantasy Friday article for Linda! I love HeartFire and the idea of home being a “soft place to fall”. I also love the idea of magical places or vignettes created within our homes. So my Fearless Fantasy Friday post is on mirrored furniture. I love how mirrored furniture is continually in flux with the changing light and activity in a room. Hope you enjoy this post and are inspired by these gorgeous pieces of mirrored furniture.

Rosie's Posies via

Mirrored furniture can be entirely covered in mirror, fitted with mirrored panels, or highlighted with mirrored accents. Silver and chrome accents or legs blend in with the mirror to create a uniform look.

Designed to the Nines via

A mirrored chest of drawers can work wonderfully in a living room as well as a bedroom. Love how the mirrored surface reflects the patterned wall paper as well as the rest of the room.

The Home Look via

Mirrored furniture paired with wall mirrors and reflective metallic finishes, such as silver or gold, creates a lively, sparkling vignette. Such glamorous decorating ideas for living rooms. Imagine how beautiful this group would be lit by candlelight.

Decor Fair via

Some contemporary mirrored furniture feels more antique with a technique called egloimise, reverse painting on mirror or glass. Adore the floral pattern on this mirrored cabinet.

Mirrored Furniture via

Mirrored furniture comes in all types of styles, from antique to contemporary, including this modern style dresser.

Nice Space via

Contemporary mirrored furniture can feel very space age, like this console table.

Mirrored Furniture via

Mirrored furniture can make small spaces, like bathrooms or entries, feel much larger. It can also add glamour to any room, including the bathroom. What great bathroom design ideas!

Decor Fair via

Black and mirrored furniture can be very dramatic. The architectural mirrored panels on this armoire heighten the dramatic impact of the piece.

Fearless Fantasy Friday - Watercolour Wallpaper...

I've been finding some wonderful pics of wallpaper to add to my Pinterest collection, and this is my new favourite!

It comes from Black Crow Studios (watch out for the loud music if you click on the link), and features a design based on watercolour paints.

Isn't it glorious?

It would certainly turn heads in any house I think.

Happy Friday everyone, I hope you all have a super weekend.

Now, go forth and decorate!

Fearless Fantasy Friday - Amy Butler's Fantastic Rugs!

In my favourite fantasy rooms (the fearless ones in my head), there's always a truly incredible rug with gorgeous colours and the most beautiful feel.

These rugs by Amy Butler are just perfect for one of my imagined 'dream' rooms.

The colours, the designs, the patterns, the boldness.... I just think they'd breathe real 'life' into a room.

Amy's rugs are made from 100% New Zealand wool, hand tufted and dyed, and hand-carved using special scissors.

There are 19 rugs in the collection - 13 designs, six of which are colored in two colorways. They're all based on Amy's fabulous fabrics and bedding prints!

You can see all the rugs and designs on this page.... so luxurious and beautiful.

I bet you can guess which one is my fave?

Happy Friday everyone. :)

Go forth and decorate!

Fearless Fantasy Friday - A Bedhead With A Difference!

Now, if I had the chance to get my hands on one of these, boy oh boy would I do it!

This bedhead has a mirror edging, which I think is really unusual and such a great piece of eye-catching decor.

Very luxurious and glam, and eminently suitable for my fearlessly fabulous fantasy bedroom!

Happy 'Fearless Fantasy Friday' everyone.

Go forth and decorate!

And.... they've heaps more to cast your eyes over.

Here's just a few more of their most colourful images.

They do less 'in your face' designs as well, but I love these!

Fearless Fantasy Friday - Diamond Baratta Design...

I think the guys over at Diamond Baratta Design are pretty darn fearless!

These gorgeous shots from their portfolio are so full of indulgent colour and non-paranoid use of pattern! I also love the way they use the 'curve' in their rooms. Gives them a sort of groovy vibe!

What do you think?

Head on over here to see more of their bold and fearless designs!
