Office Furniture For Your Small Home
Particularly people in lofts, flats, and apartments cherish every square foot of space. Families are also moving closer to town and needing more flexibility in room design where perhaps home office furniture and a gym is combined. The product here is a concept from Ligne Roset designer, Eric Jourdan, called "Hyannis Port". I absolutely love this setup in white lacquer. The chair is a great match and creates a wonderful work environment. The way the bottom is finished off with a metal rail is very cool. It creates a bit of openness that differs from most desks which finish all the way to the floor.

Create A Beautiful Outdoor Dining Sets
Patio dining sets come in a variety of different designs and styles that will add a touch of class to your deck or outdoor living area. For a lot of people the outdoor living area is the best way they find to rest and relax after a hard day or to just to enjoy the outdoors. Patio Dining Sets are used by many people to have gatherings of friends and family whether it’s for dinner lunch or breakfast. Some people choose to use fold up trays for eating with their existing patio furniture but for the majority of people they will take the extra step and find a great patio dining set.
By choosing some nice patio furniture you will be setting your outdoor living area apart from the remainder of your home. One of the great patio dining sets that are available will complement your deck, which is a great gathering place for meals and good conversation among your friends and family members. You might currently have outdoor patio furniture, but want to add some fresh, new appeal to your deck. Adding a new patio dining set to your existing outdoor furniture can be the easiest way to do this. By adding this new outdoor furniture you will be bringing new life to your outdoor living area. When you are looking into patio dining sets and trying to decide on the right type and style, make sure you take a few things into consideration. The first thing you should decide is the style of furniture you would like to showcase in your outdoor living area. This is a matter of personal taste, so it will vary from one person to another. For example, some people prefer elegance, while others want their deck to have a more informal tropical look.
The next thing to consider is the type of material you prefer that your deck furniture be made of. During your research you’ll find out that patio sets use many different types of materials, including plastic, aluminum, metal, wicker and even teak wood. Each of these materials can be manipulated into a variety of shapes during manufacturing, enabling the manufacturers to produce patio dining sets in multiple styles and designs. Another thing that is very important is to make sure of the durability of the furniture. Figure out just how much you may use your patio dining set throughout the year. With this in mind it will help you to decide on how strong and which material to choose from. If you would like to use your outdoor furniture quite frequently, you will want to ensure that it is sturdy and long-lasting. Choosing the right patio dining set will help you create a new look for your patio area and enhance its appeal. You will get a great deal of pleasure from sharing it with your friends and family.

Tips to Replace a Lighting Fixture
Maybe that old sconce or chandelier is broken beyond repair, or perhaps you're just tired of its leftover-from-the-last-century look. You can usually replace faulty sockets or wiring in light fixtures (see How to Fix a Lamp), but if this isn't possible or you want to make a change, replace the entire fixture.
1. Start by turning off the power to the fixture's circuit at the service panel.
2. When you remove the fixture base on a wall or ceiling-mounted fixture, or the cover plate on a strip fluorescent fixture, test the wiring to verify that the power is indeed off. Probe each set of insulated wires with one lead of a neon tester and the metal box or grounding wire with the other. If the tester lights, the power is still on.
3. Remove the screws or cap nuts that secure a globe or glass light shade.
4. Remove the screws or cap nuts that secure the fixture, fixture body or canopy to the outlet box. Support the full weight of a heavy fixture during this step and the next. Get help for a heavy one, especially if you are working overhead from a ladder.
5. With the wiring in the outlet box now accessible, repeat the power test described in step 2. When you've confirmed that there's no power in the outlet box, remove the wire connectors that join the fixture wires to the house. If the fixture body is grounded, remove the screw or nut that secures the grounding (green) wire.
6. You must secure fixtures that weigh over 50 lbs. (23 kg) independently of the electrical box. If you have access from above, install wood bridging between the joists above the box. Then screw the box into the bridging from below. If you don't have access to install a support from above, purchase retrofit mounting hardware for a ceiling fan and install it according to the manufacturer's instructions.
7. Compare new mounting-hole requirements with the existing provisions at the outlet box. If necessary, purchase a new mounting strap or a universal mounting plate, which will accommodate virtually any fixture.
8. Connect the new fixture to the same wires that connected the old fixture, and mount the fixture to the box with screws or cap nuts as required. Create a loop in the wires with long-nose pliers, then wrap them clockwise under a terminal screw. Or use electrician's pliers to twist the wires from a prewired fixture together with the house wires, then secure them with wire nuts. Cut off excess with wire cutters.

How to Clean Shag Area Rugs
Shag area rugs can be attractive and comfortable, but that dense plush fiber that makes the rugs so comfortable to walk on also makes the rugs more difficult to clean than other carpet and rugs. To clean your shag rugs, keep the following tips in mind:
Clean Often
The best way to make cleaning shag area rugs easier is to clean them frequently, so you won’t have caked-in stains that require a far more thorough cleaning. Clean rugs in high-traffic areas (particularly if you have pets) a minimum of twice per week. Rugs that are less frequently trod upon should still be cleaned at least once a week, as dust can accumulate. Running the vacuum over the rug should be sufficient between bigger stains.
Attack Stains Immediately with Wet Wipes
If you see stains on your shag area rugs, particularly pet vomit or urine, you must attack the stains as soon as possible to prevent them from settling into the rug permanently. The first step is to gently remove as much of the stain as you can with a wet paper towel or an alcohol-free wet wipe (such as a baby wipes). Scoop any excess dirt or vomit and then blot the stain gently with the wet paper towel or wet wipes.
Use a Small Amount of Detergent to Wash, then Rinse
Wet stains with a little water if not still wet after the wet wipes and squeeze a small drop of bleach-free laundry detergent over the stain. Use a bristle brush to work the suds into the stain. Allow to set for about 5 to 10 minutes and then rinse with a small amount of cold water. You can also perform a maintenance cleaning of shag area rugs in your bath tub with laundry detergent. Fill the tub about one quarter high and pour in 1/4 to 1/2 cup laundry detergent under the running water. Dunk the entire rug under water and, with rubber gloves on, scrub the rug with the bristle brush. Empty the bathtub and run the shower head over the rug to rinse it. Once suds stop appearing, gently roll the rug and squeeze excess water into the tub. Then hang the rug in the bathtub and allow a few hours for it to dry.
Vacuum with Baking Soda
When working on a small stain, after you have washed and rinsed the stain, allow the area to dry. Then sprinkle the stain with a liberal amount of baking soda. Use the bristle brush to work the baking soda into the stain and allow the soda to sit overnight. Vacuum the soda away the next morning. You can also sprinkle baking soda over the entire rug, allow it to sit for about 10 minutes and vacuum it away during your routine maintenance cleanings. This will help keep the rug smelling fresh and clear away small amounts of dirt and dander.
Cleaning shag area rugs can prove more difficult than cleaning most carpets or rugs, but it’s not an impossible chore, particularly if you remain proactive about keeping the rugs clean. If your stains are very old and the detergent and baking soda treatment doesn’t work, you can try commercial cleaners or taking the rugs to a professional cleaner.
